The Calthorpe School Sports Partnership (SSP) aims to bring together people who are involved in delivering PE and sport to young people in Central Birmingham. We believe that by working together we can make a real difference to the quality and quantity of PE and sporting opportunities for young people within the partnership.
The partnerships core team is made up of the School Games Organiser (SGO), Teacher Release staff (TR) and Primary Link Teachers (PLT's).
Teachers and colleagues from primary, special and secondary schools, as well as parents, volunteers, coaches and community club representatives are coming together to improve the sporting provision in Central Birmingham, allowing all partners to work together to give more opportunities to the young people. This also allows young people to take leads in projects and themselves be young leaders within the partnership.
Additionally the Calthorpe SSP aims to work with key partners to ensure a collaborative approach in helping to improve PE, raising levels on competitions through the new school; games programme, improving school and community sport and ensure the offering, take up and retention in all areas is as good as it possibly can be.
Key partners include the three constituencies across which the Calthorpe SSP is located:
The Calthorpe SSP also aims to work closely with the seven Extended Schools Clusters across which its schools are located including:
