Sporting Champions is a Sport England initiative, which brings world-class athletes face-to-face with young people to inspire and motivate them to participate in sport.
The scheme has been aligned with the new strategy, specifically focusing on the Five Hour Offer, contributing mostly towards supporting Sport Unlimited targets. The aspiration is for the Champions to be able to build long-term sustainable relationships with young people and their sporting network.
As part of this initiative Emma Pass will be visiting the Small Heath School Cluster to promote the schools Saturday Morning Multi Sport Club based at Oldknow School. Emma currently plays for the Nottingham Wildcats Basketball team and has thirty two caps for the England Women’s team under her belt.
Emma will be visiting Oldknow Junior School on Wednesday 21st October to talk to pupils on her achievements as an athlete and to promote activities pupils can take part in on a Saturday. As part of her involvement Emma will be delivering a number of sessions at the school on a Saturday.
