Calthorpe & Hodge Hill visit Corris

The week before half term Calthorpe and Hodge Hill took 17 students on an inclusive residential to the county of Powys, mid-Wales to participate in a range of activities in a different outdoor environment to the urban areas where they all live. The group stayed in the Adrian Rainsford Centre which is a hostel in the small picturesque village of Corris, just south of Snowdonia National Park.

Neither set of students had met the other before but they soon started to build good relationships as they took part in the different activities. Whilst here the group participated in lots of things from football and rounders in the park, walking through forests and over hills, to flying down a zip wire at Redridge Outdoor Activity Centre. They also found time to visit Corris Craft Centre and learn how to paint and fire pottery.

The week ended with a trip to Barmouth Beach and seafront and though windy the weather was excellent as it had been all week. Many lasting memories were taken with us as we left on the friday morning with everyone having had a good time and having made lots of new friends.

Well done to everyone involved for making it such a good trip!
