Christ Church's Community Football League came to an end after 5 weeks of matches. The well attended competition attracted teams from across the city to play 7-a-side matches at Farm Road Park.
The hosts Christ Church finished the competition on a high note by winning the special "World Cup" knock-out cup competition to consolidate a runners-up spot in the league itself which Benson School just edged by 1 point. Both schools along with Montgomery School who finished 3rd, will take part in the Football Futures "Champions League" at Aston Villa's training ground at Bodymoor Heath.
Also taking part from Calthorpe School Sports Partnership were Chandos School and Clifton School, who won the Fair Play Award. Along with all the other teams they both received certificates for all players and a medal for the team Player of the Tournament.
The competition was arranged by Mo Muhsen from Christ Church School in partnership with Football Futures Football Academies run by Leroy Richards. Well done to Mo, Leroy and all those involved in the league - it was a huge success!
