Partnership Y3/4 Kwik-cricket Finals

On Wednesday this week Moseley Ashfield Cricket Club hosted the 2011 Calthorpe SSP Kwik-cricket Finals for Y3 & 4.

Four teams from all corners of the Partnership came along to contest the trophy which was won last year by Colebourne. Straight away it looked a distinct possibility we would have a new champion as Clifton defeated Colebourne in the first game and Nansen beat Oldknow.

However after 2 rounds of matches it showed how evenly matched the teams were as  everyone had won one match and lost one!

Despite some showers of rain which delayed the start of the final matches the children showed great enthusiasm and energy in trying to win the title.

After a very close finish in the Clifton v Nansen match which the latter won by 2 runs, it meant that Colebourne who beat Oldknow in the final game had come from behind to just edge the title from Nansen on runs scored and number of catches.

So CONGRATULATIONS to Colebourne for retaining their title, well done to Nansen for taking 2nd place and also Oldknow and Clifton who were not far behind in joint 3rd. Clifton's captain was also nominated as Player of the Tournament!

Well done to all the teams and their staff for taking part (and finding the clubhouse!). A big thank you to Moseley Ashfield CC for hosting the event, and a special thanks to St.Alban's Sports Leaders for umpiring, scoring and bowling in all the games - you did a great job boys!
