U15 GIRLS COUNTY CRICKET FINALS

On Friday the 3rd of February, Hodge Hill Girls School cricket team played against two schools (Selly Park and Kingsbury, Tamworth) at Edgbaston, the results ended and we had lost both of our games. However, the experience at Edgbaston was amazing; the cricket team had learned a lot and will help us during the upcoming games. Our fielding has improved a lot but our bowling needs to improve as well; several balls we bowled were no balls which we need to work on. Batting was better but we never gained any runs by running, which we need to improve. My view is that we need to get use to playing in a huge areas and also batting with wooden bats; I was struggling a lot with the wooden bat, they were very heavy, but our cricket team is use to batting with plastic bats which also needs to change. We had a tour of the new ground, everyone was very excited and it was a great experience to take time and look around Edgbaston. Thank you to Miss Middlehurst for taking her time to arrange the finals for us, we appreciate it. The cricket team is taking anyone who is committed to take part. The club takes place every Thursday after School; see Miss Middlehurst for more details. By Jo, Year 10.
