HHGS CRICKET TEAM MATCH REPORT

Cricket Victory! On Wednesday the 12th of January, Hodge Hill Girls School played cricket against Ninestiles Secondary School and the outcome couldn’t have been better. Miss Middlehurst, the organizer of this game has been training the team for some time and the players tell us that this match truly reflected how far they have come in terms of skill and practice. When Hodge Hill Girls played against Ninestiles, they didn’t know that what they were expecting, but we recognize it’s the taking part that counts and Myhra, Year 10 quoted “We co-operated well, our fielding had improved.” Tactics such like hitting the boundary wall (where six points can be attained) and being supportive of players were ones that came in very handy, and all the weeks of practice paid off when Joanna, Year 10 said “batting had improved and bowling was more accurate.” The game was a tough one, with the other team possessing more team players than our own and the other team having the advantage of playing in their own gym, but this was no struggle for our girls as we victory was ours, with a smashing result, Hodge Hill Girls’ cricket team returned with a win to be proud of. The cricket team welcomes anyone who is committed to take part and takes place every Thursday after School. See Miss Middlehurst for more details.
