This week Oldknow Junior School were lucky enough to receive some football goals through their SSCO Thalat Mahmood at Small Heath School. One teacher Mr Patterson who coaches the year 5/6 boys football team assembled them and commented how useful they would be in his coaching sessions. "Already they are making a superb positive impact at playtimes alone" he said before adding "Any more equipment is always welcome, thank you."
The multi-use goals will be used in invasion game units in P.E lessons and in after school clubs, especially now the weather has improved significantly. Our current goals are beginning to look weathered and tatty it is hoped that they can take a well earned rest now that these new goals have arrived.
Pupils seem equally delighted with the new arrivals and discussions have featured in the schools P.E blog (available through the school website).
The year 4/5 after school football club were the first club able to use the new equipment this week since the year 5/6 team has played away at a competition this week. Any schools who are interested in coming to the school to play a friendly should contact the school without hesitation, although note that it is a playground surface.
