Oldknow Junior School have been running a parent and pupil sports club for parents and their children every Thursday evening. The club has been a huge success and has offered actvities such as badminton, rowing , cricket and netball. Thalat Mahmood (Small Heath Cluster SSCO) and Serena Harris (School PLT and PE coordinator) have been running the project. Each week 10- 25 parents and pupils attend the club. It has been especially successful in the participation of females, promoting physical actvitiy across the community.
Many parents have requested that the club carries on after Easter, as it provides them with a safe and secure environment to get active with their children. After Easter the club will be looking to increase its numbers offering more great and exciting sports such as cheerleading and Aerobics!
