After School Clubs at St Bens

This year St Benedict’s has had four successful after school clubs that include rugby, hockey, football and gymnastics.  The coaches have been provided by the SSCO at Small Heath School, Thalat Mahmood.

It is great to get the children involved in such a range of sports they would not normally participate in and by starting them a such a young age (6 or 7) hopefully they will continue with their chosen sport.

The coaches all come from clubs that run in the community such as Moseley Rugby Club.  It’s great that school can have that link with the clubs who provide extra opportunities for the children.

The children really enjoy the clubs and the waiting lists are growing weekly.  Teachers are noticing improved skills in PE lessons and parents are keen for their children to get involved.  Hopefully there will be more clubs to come at St Benedict’s.
