Oldknow Junior school has been working closely with the Small Heath School cluster to really promote health and fitness this year. The school has also supplemented these clubs with additional clubs run by the PE staff at Oldknow.
The SSCO programme has provided a number of clubs including Gymnastics, Cheerleading, Football, Cricket and a multi skills session delivered by Coerver coaches. The clubs are attended regularly by a large number of children who have shown great enthusiasm, enjoyment and skill developement.
We are also going to be adding a second club aimed at G and T children along with targetting those that are unfit or need extra time and help in sport.
Working closely with the SSCO has really helped to improve our children and we will be ensuring that this continues into the future. The staff who run the clubs have great personal experience and passion for their sports and have a friendly outgoing attitude towards both the children and staff at our school.
